Explainer Engine

Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026

In short.

1. Who we are

Explainer Engine (the "Service", "we", "us") is a service at explainerengine.me that turns study material into explainer videos. It is operated by its developer, an individual based in the State of Illinois, USA. Questions about this policy: use the contact form on our home page.

2. What we collect

We do not collect payment card or bank details, Social Security or other government identification numbers, precise location, or contacts.

3. Photos and biometric information

A photo you upload is used only to draw a stylized presenter for your videos. We do not use photos to identify anyone. We do not create, collect or store face templates, face-geometry measurements or any other biometric identifiers or biometric information, as those terms are used in the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. Upload only photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it. You can ask us to delete a photo and the drawings made from it at any time.

4. How we use information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

5. AI processing and model training

To make your videos, we send your material, notes, photos and the texts made from them to third-party AI services. These services may keep that content and use it to train and improve their models, under their own terms. We do not control that use, and once content has been sent we cannot have it removed from a provider's systems or models.

Do not upload confidential information, trade secrets, or personal information about other people that you do not want used this way.

6. Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only what each needs for its task:

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or as part of a transfer of the Service, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

7. YouTube, Google and other platforms

The Service uses YouTube API Services to upload the videos you approve to your YouTube channel. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

You can remove our access at any time: for Google, in your Google account permissions; for Instagram, TikTok and Telegram, in that app's settings for connected apps. If you ask us to disconnect an account, we delete its tokens.

8. How long we keep it

Videos already published to YouTube, Instagram or TikTok stay there until you remove them on that platform. Deleting your data from the Service does not remove them.

9. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to give you a copy of your material and videos, or to delete your account and everything in it. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and answer within 30 days.

To delete your data, send a request through the contact form with the e-mail address of your account and the words "Delete my data". We confirm the request with that address before deleting. We delete your account, material, photos, videos, connected account tokens and Telegram chat ID from our systems, and write back when it is done. Content already sent to AI service providers is outside our systems (see section 5).

10. Security

Connections to the Service are encrypted. Access tokens and API keys are encrypted at rest, and only the parts of the Service that need them can read them. Each person sees only their own channels. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

11. Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in, your browser keeps a session token so you stay signed in. You can remove it by signing out or clearing your browser data.

12. Children

The Service is for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.

13. Where data is processed

We and our providers process data in the United States and in other countries where those providers operate.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by e-mail before it takes effect.
